This Post Has 9 Comments

  1. Reggatta de Blanc was the 1st The Police I had purchased when in high school. for my money, every bit as good as the two hit singles. This is also the Police album to which drummer Sewart Copeland contributes his biggest chunk of writing. whether in the studio or on tour I don't know. These are the title track and Deathwish. If you /5().
  2. Editors’ Notes Sting describes recording this album as “where it all clicked” for The Police, and the chemistry between them is consistently beguiling—particularly on the two killer hits. “Message In a Bottle“ is full of exhilarating gear changes as Andy Summers’s guitar sparkles and charges around Sting and Stewart Copeland’s dubby groove, while “Walking On the Moon.
  3. What made 'Roxanne' especially significant, though, was its semi-reggae beat, which gave the Police a chunkier, thicker edge over the newer pop bands like the Cars and Cheap Tricks. On the Police's latest album, 'Reggatta De Blanc', 'Roxanne' can be heard in every groove - .

  6. This album delivers, at 41 minutes and eleven tracks in what is undoubtedly The Police's finest hour and one of the 70s classic albums. Released at the tail end of the s in , arguably one of the greatest years of the '70s in music.
  7. Reggatta de Blanc is probably The Police's best album. It has some great songs. As everyone knows, their albums weren't always consistently good. Zenyatta Mondatta is probably their least filler-ish album, in my opinion.
  8. Regatta de Blanc gave the world the 'heads-up' that The Police were indeed the supergroup with global appeal and that their initial release (Outlandos d'Amour) was not a one-off. Apart from the hit singles this album has some lesser known songs of great quality. 'Deathwish' is one of those, as is the somewhat threatening sounding 'Contact'.
